Hey, so guess what I'm doing tomorrow?
Oh, you know, wake up, feed the cats, eat some breakfast, and then DRESS UP LIKE A MERMAID AND MARCH IN THE CONEY ISLAND MERMAID PARADE.
In other words, the usual.
My friend Reagan is mildly obsessed with mermaids, and ever since she attended the parade last year, she's been dreaming of having a pair of fins all her own.
So, a few of us are joining her. Since we're not quite as exhibitionist as some, we're going to be 1950's -ish housewife mermaids, and wear aprons over our fins. We're even going to hand out home-baked cookies.
Can. Not. Wait.

that is awesome. when and where do i go?
would you consider it a family friendly event? or are there too many wild transvestites?
YOU. ARE. RAD.
That's all I have to say about that.
celeste- you guys should come!! from what i understand, there are a lot of people who use the parade as an excuse to show their boobies, but there are lots of family friendly mermaids, too. because not all mermaids want to show their boobies, right?
redstarmama- it would be even more fun if you guys were here. i'm going to pretend you are, okay?
celeste, i forgot to give you the details. if you're interested, just google coney island mermaid parade, and you'll be able to get all the info you need. it's on surf avenue in coney island. yippee!!
Mermaid Parade was on my calender but a few peops warned me it might not be good for my kiddos....who are quite impressionable. So....how was it? Please you and R must post pix. please.
kage- hey! so, the parade....yeah, maybe not the best place for young impressionable peeps. we were marching in the family friendly section, but we still saw a fair amount of boobage. this was my first time attending, and it was CA-RAZY! i will post some pics tomorrow.
